The 2nd Amendment Responsibility Project

Office of the Founder

To my fellow American gun owners,

For too long, the national conversation about the Second Amendment has been shaped by people who do not understand us, do not speak for us, and do not live the values we live by every day. We have let the loudest voices, the worst examples, and the most extreme actors define what it means to be a gun owner in America. The result is a distorted narrative - one that damages our reputation, weakens public trust, and threatens the right itself.

It is time for that to change.

The 2nd Amendment Responsibility Project was created for one purpose: to reclaim the narrative of American gun ownership by elevating responsibility, maturity, and civic duty as the defining traits of our culture. We cannot continue to rely on political organizations, media personalities, or advocacy groups to speak for us. We, the responsible gun owners of this country, must speak for ourselves. If we want a culture defined by responsibility, then those who already live it must lead - not react.

This movement begins with a simple truth: rights endure only when the people who hold them demonstrate that they deserve them. If we want to preserve this right for future generations, we must show - clearly, consistently, and publicly - that responsibility is the foundation of gun ownership in America.

Honor means doing the right thing despite the personal consequences.

That means setting standards for ourselves. It means calling out unsafe behavior when we see it. It means refusing to let recklessness, bravado, or extremism define our culture. It means acknowledging legitimate concerns without surrendering our rights. And it means demonstrating, through our actions, that responsible gun owners are the overwhelming majority.

Our purpose is cultural, not political.

We are not here to lobby, endorse candidates, or become another advocacy group. Our work begins within our own community - raising standards, strengthening trust, and demonstrating responsibility. If political conversations arise in the future, they will be grounded in the culture we build here, not the other way around.

I am not asking for permission to start this initiative. I am accepting the responsibility to begin it.

Every movement has a moment when someone must step forward and say, “Enough. We can do better.” I am willing to be that person - not because I believe I have all the answers, but because I believe someone must take the first step. I accept the risk, the criticism, and the backlash that may come with it. That is the burden of leadership, and I take it willingly.

If you are a responsible gun owner - if you believe in safety, competence, maturity, and civic duty - then this effort is for you. If you believe that our culture can be better, stronger, and more respected, then I invite you to stand with me. If you believe that the future of the Second Amendment depends on the actions we take today, then take your place. We have work to do.

The time has come for responsible gun owners to reclaim the narrative.

The time has come to define ourselves.

The time has come to lead.
